The Canadian Paediatric Society recommends:
- All breastfed babies receive a daily vitamin D supplement of 400 IU until about one year of age.
- At about one year of age most babies are eating a variety of foods from all food groups and are drinking approximately two cups (500 mL) of cow’s milk each day. At this time, a vitamin D supplement is no longer needed.
