In 2001 the Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge started in the Canadian province of British Columbia with 856 babies and their mothers at 26 sites. By 2009, there were 4,766 babies at 246 sites in 21 countries. In Niagara, the Breastfeeding Challenge started in 2006 with 11 babies and grew to 114 babies in 2015! The Breastfeeding Challenge continues to grow globally as additional people join in. Breastfeeding and donor milk-banking need support around the world. This year we would like to see the number of participants increase dramatically.
